Milbrook is a private gated community of single family homes in Greenwich, Connecticut. East of Greenwich’s central shopping and business districts, west of Cos Cob, north of I-95 and south of Post Road, Milbrook is conveniently located close to shopping, business districts, schools, the Greenwich Train Station and main thoroughfares. The golf course, the extended Indian Harbor inlet, park, varied terrain and landscaping create personal views and vistas for many of the properties.
The northern gates to the community mark the entrance into a residential enclave. Open during the day, the gates close at night for privacy, security and limited access. Throughout the community, residents enjoy the feel of a neighborhood and are often seen walking for pleasure in the quiet tree-lined streets. The landscape is mature, the roads bend and the elevation is varied.
Residents rave about their location and the convenience it offers. Within one mile of Greenwich Avenue and the train station, home owners value the proximity to shopping, restaurants, services, schools and entertainment. Greenwich High School is across the street to the north. Julian Curtis elementary school is less than half a mile to the west. Numerous other fine schools are also within a mile and a half. Whole Foods market and other daily needs and services are nearby. Cos Cob commercial and retail space is just to the east.
The Milbrook community includes approximately 170 houses. The extended Indian Harbor inlet creates the upper and lower lake central to the community and enjoyed by many of the residences. The Milbrook Club and playground are within the community and serve as key focal points for entertainment, leisure and dining for many of the residents and other members.
The Milbrook Association was incorporated in 1923 and was brought under the Milbrook Owner’s Association in 1944 to provide for maintenance of roads and lakes, to integrate security and to maintain architectural standards. The owner’s association includes a subdivided residential community with its own nine-hole golf course, pool, tennis courts, and clubhouse with dining.
The Milbrook Club
The Milbrook Club, founded in 1923, has a 9-hole golf course, tennis courts, platform tennis courts, swimming pool and dining facilities. The Milbrook Club is an “owner” in the The Milbrook Association. Membership in The Millbrook Club is by invitation to residents and non-residents. Given shared interests in the Milbrook community, there is a longstanding tradition of mutual cooperation between The Milbrook Club and the Milbrook Owner’s Association. Milbrook Club was recently renovated.
