It is Spring, and that means residential inventory for sale is typically at its peak. With potential buyers out and about, properties lush and green, and houses looking fresh and bright, it is a common time for open houses. Top that off with this year’s May calendar and it’s no surprise that there are a whopping 136 open houses on Sunday (squeezed between Mother’s Day and Memorial Day when there is typically little traffic).

Rental Review
With the summer rental season advancing, I took a quick look at all rentals in the prior twelve months. Of the 844 rentals, 366 were single family, 210 were condominiums and 144 were multi-family. Most of the condominiums and multi-family properties are located South of Post Road, South of Parkway and in Old Greenwich. Over 700 of the 844 rentals in the prior twelve months were long term rentals, constituting a year or more, and another 100 were flexible. Short term, summer and winter rentals fill in the difference. While popular and in demand, summer rentals are hard to come by in coveted Greenwich.

There will be no Greenwich Weekly next week in honor of Memorial Day weekend.
