This week I look at the date of construction of homes and wonder if given the current trend towards clean, fresh and neutral if old world charm has lost its appeal. Apparently not. There are 769 homes listed for sale in Greater Greenwich representing a wide range of construction periods. Sales in the prior twelve months show no tendency toward newer construction and no clear trend emerging based on age. Homes constructed prior to 1930 constitute a strong share of closings. Indeed, year of construction may not be as significant a data point as location, condition and value.
